Saskia van der Made was born in 1963 at Ridderkerk in Holland. In 1992 she discovers marble sculpting at Carrara in Italy.
In 1997 she moves to the south of France and creates her own atelier.
By sculpting the rough blocks of marble in the ‘direct-cut technique’ she creates essentially abstract sculptures.
